The singular character of Rioja’s white varieties

Viura, Garnacha Blanca, Tempranillo Blanco

The vineyards characterise the quality of the grapes for this vintage. Tempranillo Blanco grapes come from high-altitude vineyards, which natural farming characteristics provide ideal conditions for making fresh white wines with elegant, crisp acidity.

Garnacha Blanca is grown in our estate in Rioja Oriental, Los Almendros, with Mediterranean climate and shallow sandy-limestone soils with calcareous gravel. This variety is fresh and fruity.

Viura is from the Arenzana area in Rioja Alta, which location provides the perfect conditions to farm Rioja’s most characteristic white variety.

The result is an utterly fresh and balanced wine perfectly rounded thanks to Garnacha’s fruity character.

Low temperature maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete vats preserve the aromatic expression and provide the tension, or long finish, which characterise the white wines of our Technical Director, Pablo Tascón.

We find an aromatic combination of wild herbs, including dill and coriander.

icono bocaPalate

Refreshing citrus flavours, specially lime and grapefruit, and coriander tartness. It has a long finish thanks to the perfectly balanced alcohol and acidity, where we also find that creaminess characteristic of the Viura variety.

Food pairing

An ideal accompaniment to fish and seafood, but also salads and pasta dishes, as well as any meals with some heat, such as, Mexican, Indian or Thai cuisines.
